They will perform BEA WebLogic administration and will implement operating system enhancements that improve reliability and performance. Experience providing system administration support for servers, storage, and networking components is required. Candidate will have experience with equipment staging and experience developing and using Shell scripts.
Desired Skills: Experience with Cisco firewall, Brocade switches, SAN, and/or IBM SAN Volume Controller (SVC). Experience with CR/DR reporting tool (e.g. IBM Rational ClearQuest) and Change Request (CR) planning.

Description: Candidate will be expected to provide support in the planning, design, implementation, administration, documentation, and support of lab systems. Will perform applications testing and take support calls. Experience with RedHat Linux or advanced general Linux knowledge and troubleshooting of standard daemons and tools (NFS, NTP, BIND, APACHE, SYSLOG, log rotate, check configuration, init scripts, curl, general networking, etc.) is required. System administration for Linux infrastructure and development systems experience is required. Practical experience with RedHat Yellow Dog Updater (YUM) and RHCT or higher certification is highly desired. Candidate should have 5+ years Linux systems administration with 2+ years experience working with RH Enterprise Linux, RHEL 4/5, and with DHCP, DNS, and SSH configurations. Candidate should have a working knowledge in the following shell scripting languages: Ruby, Ksh, and/or Bash. Must be able to perform scripting for loading machines using KickStart and Puppet manifests and perform/verify system configurations. Experience using KickStart or JumpStart to automate system installations will be needed. Will need to be able to assemble, reassemble, and install operating systems and application software to construct systems for integration, testing, and production environments. Candidate must be able to generate robust system baselines that are suitable for easy deployments to lab and field site locations and produce applicable easily-understood and accurate installation and configuration manuals to support deployments. Apply hands-on experience configuring IBM Blade Centers and IBM Director Software suite, with Dell servers, and with HP/Compaq servers. Apply networking skills and knowledge of TCP/IP networking. Create and implement plans for deploying new services in a highly available and automated environment with supporting automated tests. Collect development and testing system requirements (technology refresh, performance requirements, patch updates, etc.) for the labs and plan and coordinate the associated upgrades to include system upgrades including design, procurement and implementation schedules including repurposing to meet PSC (power, space, cooling) requirements and other team requirements. Work with developers, system engineers and data characterization teams to produce tests providing design-to-test and auto tests. The candidate will perform end-to-end functional tests for validating that the system is operating as expected. They must be able to perform operational tests ensuring that the system is operating as expected. Candidate will conduct performance tests supporting and validating system benchmarks for stability and performance. Troubleshoot Linux systems to identify hardware, software, and procedural issues.
